PVC Vent Pipe
Typically, cathodic protection deep well anode system operates at relatively high outputs to supply lots of current over a broad area. Therefore, large amounts of chlorine gas are inevitably generated from the dissolution of naturally occurring salts in the soil. If not vented properly, these chlorine gas can cause serious lead cable insulation corrosion—— resulting in a premature system failure.
To tackle this problem, the vent pipes are widely used to displace chlorine gas generated by the discharge of DC current from the impressed current anodes. The vent pipe is commonly centered in the active area coke column allowing chlorine gas to escape into atmosphere. Made of high quality polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, our vent pipes are perforated with relatively large diameter holes and covered by a layer of geotextile fabric filter, in turn greatly enhancing the venting capability. Moreover, this pipe can also be used to add water to a deep well if the active anode column becomes dry.
