Sodium Hypochlorite Generator

Sodium hypochlorite generator is a type of device which uses diluted brine or sea water as a raw material to produce sodium hypochlorite solution by electrolytic reaction. Unsurprisingly, it is a systematic machine used at all scales —— water disinfection, wastewater treatment, bleach manufacturing and wholesale chemical production.

The on-site sodium hypochlorite generator is mostly composed of salt dissolving unit, filter, diluting unit, electrolyzer, rectifying power supply, automatic control system, storage and dosing unit etc. And the electrolyzer is the batch electrolytic cell where electrolysis take place. Every electrolytic cell is made of parallel-plate electrode stack horizontally or vertically placed in an acrylic vessel. When direct current is passed through, oxidation/reduction reactions occur at the electrodes. Due to high production efficiency for hypochlorite from water with a very low chloride content, RuO2 and/or IrO2-coated electrodes are the best suited from personal electrochlorination units to giant industrial plants.
