Canistered High Silicon Cast Iron Anode
YUXI’s canistered anode consists of a tubular or stick type high silicon cast iron anode firmly pre-packaged in a large spirally wound galvanized mild steel canister that is filled with calcined petroleum coke backfill. The canister housing is only intended to survive transportation and installation. Once installed, the exterior housing is part of the anode system and it is expected to be consumed quickly, leaving behind the anode and coke backfill.

—— Chemical Composition ——
YUXI developed rigid controls for the chill casting process in accordance with the highest standards — meeting X-Ray Level 1 as per ASTM E186/E446, chemistry to either ASTM A518-99 Gr 1 or 3. ASTM A518 Grade 3 chemistry is particularly suited for more severe environments(such as brackish water or saltwater), where the level of chromium is elevated to enhance anode performance.

Due to its high content of silicon, the anode surface is readily and continually oxidized with a thin film of hydrated silicon oxides, which protects the anode from metal pitting. Our high silicon cast iron anodes exhibit extraordinary corrosion resistance and low consumption rate in low-pH environment.

Canister high silicon cast iron anode is normally used in area with high water table or where it is difficult to install loose coke backfill which is normally provided around anodes. Our canistered high silicon cast iron anode are perfect material for low resistivity soils, shallow vertical and horizontal surface ground beds, as well as wet, marshy soil conditions where caving is likely to occur.
